The difference
Manuals do not get read. A training video is watched and forgotten. The price of learning in the field is faulty installation, a broken part, a stopped line and a service invoice that lands on you.
Unplanned-downtime analyses show human error behind roughly 23% of incidents, with manufacturing leading other sectors on this measure. The causes cited are always the same: untrained operators, undocumented procedures, non-standard workflows. All three are problems training design can fix.
In a VR scenario the operator does not read and does not watch — they do. When they touch the button on the machine, the system registers it and moves them to the next stage. If they proceed in the wrong order it warns them and will not continue until the step is completed. This is what a manual cannot do.

How it works
The operator stands in front of the machine in the virtual space. The step they need to perform appears briefly and clearly; the relevant area is highlighted.
They press the button, pull the lever, open the cover, fit the part. The action matches the movement on the real machine; muscle memory forms.
When the correct action is performed the system recognises and confirms it. If the order is wrong or a step is missing, it does not allow progress and shows why.
The procedure advances by itself; the operator does not look at a manual asking "what now". At the end a report shows who struggled at which step.
Where it is used
The team learns the procedure before travelling to site. The error rate on first installation drops.
A new operator learns without stopping the machine. There is no production loss.
Hazardous scenarios are tried in a risk-free environment; rehearsals that could never happen in reality become possible.
Service teams in different countries are trained to the same standard; knowledge does not stay tied to individuals.
A machine that cannot be transported to a fair, or a plant not yet built, is toured at full scale.
The same infrastructure can also be used for technical high school and university programmes.
